The Pub
If you are looking for a British pub with all the trimmings you have come to the right place, we pride ourselves in offering everything a great British pub should; a warm welcome, delicious food, real ales, a beer garden or an open fire (depending on the good old British weather), Sky & BT Sports, a classy wine selection and some great gins!
The Ash has been a ‘locals favourite’ for many years. since its use by the United States Air Force during the campaigns of World War II, and is still popular with frequent flyers due to its close proximity to Stansted Airport.
Good Food
We specialise in traditional British pub food done well. Choose from classic British pub favourites including Billingsgate fish and chips and Steak & Mushroom pie and mash. We also serve a legendary Sunday roast which is extremely popular so please give us a call to book a table.

Children are welcome to dine in the restaurant area, and we have outside play equipment to keep little ones entertained, but we do not allow children under the age of 14 in the public bar.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the public bar and outside, but are not permitted in the restaurant area.

We have great real ales on tap for you to try, alongside cask & bottled lagers, ciders and a full range of spirits (including plenty of gin!). For wine lovers, we have a comprehensive selection for you to choose from.
Community Hub
We aim be be the hub of the community here at Burton End. We host local groups and are a popular stop off for ramblers, dog walkers and plane spotters!
If you are participating in the Muddy Dog challenge at Elm’s Farm, why not stop by with your fur friends for lunch? – We’re just a short walk away, through Turner Spring’s Nature Reserve. We have a large beer garden with plenty of seating, and some room in the public bar, which is also dog friendly.

The Team
Accessibility
As a historic building, lighter mobility aides can generally access all parts of the building quite easily. We have a wider access point via the stable door at the front of the restaurant area for heavier motorised chairs.
We have two sets of toilets at either end of the pub, with the toilets in the restaurant end being more easily accessible.
